Ian Heyman has over 23 years of legal experience counseling clients on all aspects of business matters, including acquisitions and transfers, corporate governance and structures, taxation including state and federal tax audits, commercial and residential real estate, wealth management, professional and business licensing, internal and government investigations, government relations, risk management, strategic structuring and commercial finance. Mr. Heyman represents businesses and individuals across many industries by creating innovative solutions, while always planning two steps ahead.

From 1998 to 2018, Mr. Heyman maintained his business practice in Columbus, offering superior representation to companies large and small. Ian served as general counsel for companies with yearly sales in excess of $300 million dollars, and was the transactional architect for numerous business platforms exceeding twenty million dollars in yearly revenue. Mr. Heyman also represented many smaller businesses and individuals, serving as counsel to multiple start-up companies and to individual investors, providing comprehensive legal structure resulting in ongoing financial success. In addition, Ian also provided representation for clients facing internal and external investigations, including IRS audits, U.S. Attorney’s Office investigations, Consumer Finance Protection Bureau investigations, Civil Rights investigations, Ohio Department of Taxation Audits, Ohio Department of Commerce Investigations, and Ohio Attorney General investigations.

Mr. Heyman joined the law firm of Arnold & Clifford, LLP in 2018, where he served clients in the areas of acquisitions, real estate, corporate governance and business litigation. During his years at the firm, Ian also represented clients in tax audits, trust disputes, as well as providing representation for clients being investigated by the U.S. Department of Justice and by the FBI. He served as lead counsel for numerous acquisitions, mergers, commercial real estate ventures and similar transactions, providing comprehensive stewardship of a variety of business interests.

In 2021, Mr. Heyman returned to his boutique business practice in the Law Office of Ian Heyman LLC, continuing his ongoing role as counsel to many businesses and individuals. In November of 2021, Ian’s firm became Of Counsel to Arenstein & Andersen Co., LPA, where he continues to represent clients in a variety of businesses and industries.
